• The appointment takes around 45 minutes, with the actual procedure taking only around 15 minutes.

The results from the filler are instant, and generally last around 9-12months. Each time you have this done, the results will last longer as long as the initial scaffold of filler is still in place.

  • It can be a bit uncomfortable however we numb the skin prior to the treatment with numbing cream.

We also do not use needles in this delicate area, to reduce swelling/pain and also to be safe and minimize complications. Instead we use a micro-cannula to deposit the filler. This is blunt ended and uses only a single entry point on both sides, thereby reducing trauma and minimizing risk.

The result can be seen instantly.

  • Downtime with filler in this area is generally very minimal and makeup can be applied the next day.

Tenderness and very mild swelling is expected for a few days as well as potential for mild bruising in some cases. We provide pre and after care instructions to go through ways we can further minimise this.

  • People often think a bit of filler into their naso labial folds will get completely get rid of their nose to mouth lines. In actual fact, some people have these because of naturally heavy cheeks adding weight to the fold, so consultation and having realistic expectations are really important in these cases.

Peri-Oral Lines

Common lines around the mouth area include naso-labial folds (nose to mouth lines) as seen on the example on the left, as well as marionette lines which are the lines extending downwards from the mouth corners.

With dermal filler (injectable hyaluronic acid), we can soften these lines but not get rid of them completely. Naso labial folds especially are usually caused by a loss of volume due to the early ageing process in the mid face, causing loss of structure and therefore sagging of the tissues in the lower face and formation of peri-oral lines.

To treat these, we often suggest midface/ cheek filler to help to ‘lift’ the area and give an anti-ageing effect to the face overall and then we can soften them further if necessary by adding filler into them directly.
