Chin Shadow Filler

The chin shadow is the area directly adjacent and lateral to our chin. We will very often suggest chin filler with chin shadow filler as the two areas together allow the whole chin and jawline area to look seamless and polished, with smooth transitions so that filler is always undetectable and natural.

Often when chin filler is placed alone, it can lead to the appearance of a ‘stuck on’ chin as the areas on the sides have not been balanced with the rest of the jawline.

Filler into this area can reduce the shadowing, thereby giving a more airbrushed look to the lower face as well as supporting the mouth corners. With ageing, the chin shadow region is also one that suffers with volume loss, contributing to a more aged and hollow appearance to the lower face. Volume loss here also means the mouth corners are not supported, so marionette lines and jowls are more likely to form.

Chin and chin shadow filler is also often done in combination with nose and/or lip filler as part of Dr Anj’s signature Profile Balancing Treatment.
