The appointment takes around 30 minutes, with the actual procedure taking only around 15 minutes.

The peel is ideally done as a course of treatments for the best results (2-3 in a course, carried out 4-6 weeks apart).

However, one peel on it’s own will still yield fantastic results, as shown in the main example above, which is after only one session.

Results can last upto a few months and you can do a maintenance peel twice a year after the initial course if you wish.

We ask you to attend the appointment makeup free. We will clean your skin and apply the peel. When we apply the peel, a mild stinging sensation is normal but it is not painful.

Your skin will be red and feel inflamed on the day and we will give you a home kit to be used for the next few days.

There is definitely downtime with the Perfect Peel. The full peel is usually complete by day 7, with the procedure carried out on day 1. During days 1-2, skin will feel inflamed and look red. Dr Anj will give you a post peel home care kit to use for the few days after the peel.

The physical peel tends to occur between days 3-6 and is generally complete by day 7. After day 6, all normal skin care can be resumed.

We advise no prolonged sun exposure e.g. sunny holidays or laser hair removal for 6 weeks after the peel is carried out to avoid any chance of sunburn.

In some darker skin types, we often need to prepare the skin with some at home medical grade skincare before we carry out the perfect peel. This to reduce the risk of any kind of rebound pigmentation. Generally if you use a medical grade vitamin A (retinol, tretinoin) or hydroquinone regularly then you are fine to have the peel done.

If you are not using any of those ingredients, we will recommend at least two of them for at least 4-6 weeks before we carry out a peel. This is why we always advise a virtual skin consultation if you are considering the Perfect Peel. Dr Anj will go through your skincare routine with you in order to ensure you are going to achieve the best results from your peels.
